Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Kariya is operated by Ibe Stanislaus, trading as Kariya (a Khevera product), Lagos, Nigeria ("Kariya", "we", "us"). You can reach us at support@khevera.com.

2. Who can use Kariya

You must be at least 16 years old to use Kariya. By using it you confirm that you are, and that the information you give us is true.

3. Your account

• You need an account to use most of Kariya. Keep your login details private; you're responsible for what happens under your account.
• Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
• You can delete your account and data at any time from your Account page.

4. Free and Premium plans

Kariya has a Free plan with limited use and a paid Premium plan. What each plan includes is shown on the pricing page.

• Premium in Nigeria: ₦2,000 per month or ₦15,000 per year.
• Premium everywhere else: $5 per month or $40 per year. Prices outside Nigeria are set in US dollars and charged in Naira at the day's exchange rate. Renewals use the rate on the renewal date. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts it, so the exact amount may vary slightly.
• Payments are processed by Paystack. Your bank may add its own charges, for example for foreign-currency payments.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; you keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
• We may change prices for future periods. We'll tell you before a change affects you, and you can cancel before it does.

5. AI-generated suggestions

Kariya uses artificial intelligence to score CVs, suggest rewrites, write practice answers, estimate salary ranges and plan careers. These are suggestions, not facts.

• AI suggestions must be reviewed by you before you use them. AI can be wrong or out of date.
• You're responsible for what you send to employers.
• Never use Kariya to invent or exaggerate experience, employers, qualifications, results or salaries. Everything you send to an employer must be true.
• Salary ranges are estimates, not survey data. Check them with recruiters, people in similar roles and recent job adverts.
• The work-style test is a guide, not a clinical or psychometric assessment.

6. Kariya is not a recruiter

Kariya is a coaching tool. We are not a recruitment agency or employer, we don't send your CV to employers, and we don't guarantee interviews, job offers, promotions or any particular salary.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• upload content you don't have the right to use, or someone else's personal data without permission;
• use Kariya to create false or misleading CVs, references or documents;
• try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or get around plan limits;
• share your account, or resell or redistribute Kariya's content as a service;
• use Kariya for anything unlawful, abusive or harmful.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

8. Your content

Your CVs, job descriptions and answers stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Kariya for you, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to Kariya and these terms

We're improving Kariya all the time, so features may change. We may also change these terms or stop offering the service. If a change materially affects you, or if we decide to end the service, we'll give you reasonable notice by email or in the app. If we end a paid service early, we'll refund the unused part of your subscription.

10. Limitation of liability

We provide Kariya "as is" and work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as a lost job opportunity or lost earnings), and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere, you keep any consumer protections your local law gives you.
